This week is going to be a hectic one. I have 2 soccer games this week and they are back to back, YIKES! I have a feeling I will be very sore come Wednesday after games on Monday and Tuesday. To make it even more busy the games are away! Today I am having to do a bunch of homework so that this week will be less stressful. Yesterday I decided that I wanted to bake cookies that I had seen a recipe for on interest and I took some pictures so that I could include them on here.
The recipe was for tie-dyed sugar cookies.
What you need:
1 package of Betty Crocker Sugar cookie mix
1 egg (for the mix)
1 stick of butter (for the mix)
Sprinkles
Neon food coloring
You will also need a big bowl for mixing, five small bowls for separating, and 3-4 cookie sheets.
To start you crack the egg into your bowl and then add the cookie mix.
Egg in bowl.
Cookie mix in bowl.
After this two steps make sure your butter is softened and then add it to the mix as well.
Butter in Bowl.
Once the butter is in the bowl combine the three ingredients. This step isn't as easy as it sounds because it takes some time for the ingredients to form into a a soft dough.
All ingredients now in bowl.
Soft dough finally formed.
Preheat oven to 350.
After that you separate the ought into five bowls. You don't necessarily have to have five you can separate them into how many different colors you want to use.
Dough in bowls.
After you separate the dough add food coloring to each ball.
I used pink, blue, yellow, green, and purple.
It gets pretty messy so I suggest wearing gloves.
That is after multiple attempts of washing my hands.
After that take a grape sized ball of each color and combine it with the other balls and form a coil. Then roll the coil into sprinkles and cut the dough and lay on a tin foiled cookie mat.
This is what they should look like before placing them in the oven for 10-11 minutes.
And being the bad blogger that I am I did not take an after picture, but they look the same only larger.
Also, I have fun giveaways coming up because I reached 100 followers so stay tuned.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
