Whether you are in high school, college, or a big girl out in the real world, let's face it.. by December we are all a little tired and ready for a break from the craziness of life. With exams, shopping, trips, and the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, who wouldn't be tired? I am the queen of stress and sometimes find it hard to relax after being pushed to the limit as a senior in college. I have decided that over this Christmas break I am making it a priority to set aside time for myself to make sure that I get some rest and relaxation in before the New Year comes at me full blast! You may not find yourself sitting by the ocean in the breeze this holiday season, but there are plenty of ways to enjoy your break to its full potential from your own home!
5 Ways to Relax Over the Holidays
1. Do some baking
Now that we all have a Pinterest that we use every single day, there is no reason why we can't find a good recipe or two to bake up a happy day! Baking is almost therapeutic for me and of course, it's always fun to enjoy the food afterwards! If you don't get enough baking in with all your Christmas goodies.. consider a few of these fun recipes..

Funfetti Cake Balls
Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies
Forgotten Kiss Cookies
2. Read a good book
I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I have done zero reading for fun since my family vacation to the beach this past July. Every time I laid down at night to read a few pages, I was asleep before getting through the first one. I have a stack of books I want to read piling higher than ever before and I am just itching to open them. This Christmas you will find me "cozied" up on the couch with one of my books! Reading is a great way for anyone to relieve stress and relax. After all, how could a mushy-gushy Nicholas Sparks' book or a bestseller like The Hunger Games not take you to a world where your stress is not an issue? Reading always helps me to relax. Not sure what to read? Here's a few ideas..
3. Watch a movie
Who doesn't love a good movie? Lately I have found myself watching movies while I multitask on my computer. The only problem with this is that I have no idea what was going on in the movie. I am going to take the time to watch movies for enjoyment, rather than just for background noise. I mean, how much more relaxing could you get.. the movies I watch require very little thinking.. and maybe just a little laughing (or crying)! Here are some of the movies I will be watching over break both at home and at the movies..
I will definitely be visiting the theaters to see these two movies!
4. Get crafty
Crafting is always my answer to a bad day. However, I have had a quite a few horriblenogoodverybaddays over this semester (all because I let my stress get out of hand) and haven't always had the time to kick back and craft. Over this Christmas break I am putting my crafting into full force!
5. Laugh
If you do anything over break... LAUGH! I will not lie that at certain points this semester I found myself being grumpy and way too serious! It may seem simple, but you don't realize how much it can turn your day around!
