They Are Mine

I went on a solo shopping trip (first mistake) and got these bad boys.... Woohoo!

They were 25% off which is even better. And, they look almost like these super out-of-my-price-range Stuart Weitzman wedges.

Love,

Prayers for Tuscaloosa

I write with a heavy heart today. My dear college town has been devestated by a massive tornado. Aaron and I sat in awe as we watched the live coverage, twitter posts and uploaded pictures from our computers in Atlanta. Luckily, The Weather Channel kept us posted every step of the way.

We got in touch with all of our friends, but the devestation is truly unbelievable. The pictures are heartbreaking of homes completely destroyed and the personal accounts of this horrible tragedy get worse and worse.

Just two weeks ago, I almost cried coming back to a city I hold so dear. Tears of joy returning to a town where I spent four amazing years with some of my best friends and Aaron. Tuscaloosa is one of those places that holds so many memories and I can't wait for the day I can share those with my own children. I remember eating at some of the demolished restaurants, wasting time at University Mall and the countless hours spent sitting in five o'clock traffic on Game Day Fridays on those wiped-out roads.

We will remember the lives lost and the rebuilding that Tuscaloosa will now endure. You are in our prayers.

Love,

My last sight before departing for New York

Outfit of the week - $200 or less!

This week's outfit features pieces that can be worn on different occasions. The silk Plenty by Tracy Reese dress incorporates two of spring's biggest trends: safari inspired looks and florals. You'll want to add this dress to your closet because it can do double duty at work and out at dinner. You can switch out the wedges with a pair of strappy sandals for a more glamorous effect. The Urban Expressions clutch, which features a detachable strap, can carry your essentials during the day and makes a chic addition to any outfit at night. A delicate gold tone necklace and vintage belt completes this look.

Plenty by Tracy Reese dress $90.95
Urban Expressions $45.95
Moda wedges $17.95
Vintage belt $17.95
Necklace $25.95

Grand total: $198.75

These pieces can be found at Current's Alexandria location.

The Big Apple

Sorry I have been MIA but I went to New York City last week for work, Alabama for Easter and this week is getting just as crazy!!!! Rest isn't in my immediate future.

But New York was amazing... I am trying to convince the hubs for another visit.

I could get used to looking at this, but only for a short time. I like my grass and trees too much

Love,

Rainbow Cupcakes

I made these for a co-worker's birthday and they turned out amazing... yummy and awesome looking. This is super easy too so there are no excuses.

Start with a packaged white cake mix, cream cheese icing and food coloring. FYI - You will also need any additional ingredients that are on the back of the cake mix box. Mix the cake batter according to the instructions. Then divide into separate bowls depending on how many colors you want.

My color choices: red, blue, purple, yellow and green

Drop the colors on top of each other into cupcake liners. Bake according to instructions.

Let the cupcake cool before frosting.

Tada!!!!

Love,

A-Day

This weekend we went back "home" to Tuscaloosa and we had an amazing time catching up with friends. I always used to say I couldn't wait to get out of T-town but I LOVE going back to all the fun and excitement.  Thanks Reid and Laura for letting our fam jam stay with yours :)

If you were anywhere in the Southeast these past few days, then you experienced this line of storms. This was one of those eerie moments when the sun was shining.

Reunited twice in one month.... a new record

The tall tee made it out.

I caught the most precious candid moment. Love you two :)

I just had to capture this moment of Aaron being so mad while waiting in a horrible line just for Mexican food. Pretty hilarious to watch.

Well, I will be MIA this week because in about 12 hours I will be in New York City. I am so stinking excited.

I will leave you with the lullaby Aaron has been singing me all week...

Love,

Happy Birthday Cameron!

Happy Birthday Cameron! I hope you have an absolutely amazing birthday! Wish I was there like the past few ones :)

Home Sweet Apartment?

What consumes our life right now? Um, looking at houses. We aren't really ready to settle down and start the house hunting process just yet but we still look... like all the time.

Some people complain that houses are so expensive where they live... well people Atlanta is NOT cheap

This 2 bed, 1 bath house is $399,000! Yes, you read that correctly. The Atlanta newspaper constantly talks about  how it is a buyers market, but NO ONE is selling so there isn't the best selection on the market.

That being said I can still ponder how I will decorate once we do get a house :)

The Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Magazine has gorgeous spreads of designer homes. A girl can dream!

Aren't these shots gorg?

While we are talking about houses you can throw in this bad boy for a mere $6.95 million. We are talking chump change people!

Love,

Crescent Roll Chicken

We have been insanely busy lately for some reason and it looks like it will stay that way until August! I think I may be permanently exhausted.

Anyways, I cooked this last week and haven't found the time to post it, imagine that. This is for you Alexandria :)

Crescent Roll Chicken
1 tube of crescent rolls
Cream of Chicken soup
1 1/4 cup of milk
3 pieces of chicken, boiled and cut into smaller pieces
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cook the chicken if you haven't already done so; chop it up into smaller pieces. Unroll the crescent rolls. Divide the chicken between the eight rolls, and place in the pan like so.

Pour remaining ingredients in the pan over the rolls.

Top with more cheddar cheese (if you love cheese like us). Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Your oven may cook faster or slower so just watch for the tops to brown or bubbling. Enjoy!

Love,
