What A Girl Wants: Home Edition

So as you know... we are in an apt., pining for a house in the near future. Well that being said I don't have an abundance of space nor do I want to buy anything right now, not knowing the space of our future casa.

But a girl can still look....

I love this Atlanta artist I stumbled upon... stunning work!
I am loving the shape of this chair from Z Gallerie. The cream may not be the cleanliest of colors though.
These knobs are awesome!!! Now I just need to find me a piece of furniture to fix up and I have an awesome weekend project :)
The bowls are so fun and I want them for my table setting. They don't exactly match my dinnerware but these are super cute!
Maybe when I get a bookcase, I can get some books. These are classic novels without the tacky cover.
If you can't tell Pottery Barn is my fav and it needs to give me this coffee table. I want need a new one considering I can't even move our current table. You know you have progressed when a coffee table is at the top of your wish list.
While PB is in a giving mood, they can throw in this rug
We didn't get this cake stand to match our everyday dinnerware and it would come in handy for our little four-legged child's birthday. Yes, human and dog cakes are being made; don't judge.
Love this tufted ottoman... Maybe this would deter feet on the coffee table.
These are awesome chairs, too. Loving the stud details.

Whea that was a lot. Now we just need a house to hold it all :)

Love,

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today was my dad's birthday and the fam came to celebrate! It was an amazing, fun weekend with family. We got a chance to laugh, experience the tourist-y side of Atlanta and just spend time together (as opposed to the phone).

Again, I wasn't the best on pictures but I took a little more this weekend.

First off, we went to the Georgia Aquarium with it seems like all of Atlanta.  Major kid overload!!!

I took a picture of these because the top one is what Winston would look like as a fish... the crazy thing is that Aaron walked up and said the same thing
The penguins were new to us (we went to the aquarium about two years ago) and they were really cool... Honestly the only birds I care for.
The Beluga whales were awesome... but to be honest we witnessed a very awkward event, mating. Well actually it was only awkward for the parents that had to explain what was going on and amusing for us watching them stumble their words!
 Scary shark
 Up-close scary shark
 Massive fish
 About to be feeding time!
Absolutely awesome... wish I was someplace tropical right now

Next we walked over to World of Coke...
 Very contemporary decor
Made ourselves nauseous on all the Coke (and some were absolutely disgusting)
 The parentals
Walking back (what seemed like two miles in wedges) from dinner at The Vortex, very artsy but awesome burgers. A MUST in Atlanta!
 Happy Birthday Dad!!!!
Lots of fire :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! I hope you had an amazing day!

Chicken and Broccoli Cobbler

A yummy and considerably easy recipe via my favorite, Southern Living!

Ingredients
1/4  cup butter, melted
5 ounces cubed sourdough bread (3 cups)
1/2 cup refrigerated grated Parmesan cheese
3 cups small broccoli florets
3 cups chopped cooked chicken
1/2  cup drained chopped roasted red bell pepper
1 (10-oz.) container refrigerated Alfredo sauce
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons dry sherry

Drizzle butter over bread cubes in a large bowl; sprinkle with cheese, and toss well.

Combine broccoli and next 5 ingredients in a large bowl. Spoon filling into a lightly greased 2-qt. rectangular or oval baking dish; top with bread cubes.

Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 30 minutes or until bubbly and top is toasted.

I served with brown sugar glazed carrots

Love,

Wordless Wednesday

So I have read a lot of other blogs and they feature a Wordless Wednesday, but mine won't be all wordless.

I mean you need a little explanation:

Here is our child after his walk. Yes, we walk our bulldog because he has gained some weight like his mom after the wedding aftermath and now he needs to lose those last few lbs.

Happy Birthday Amy

Happy Birthday Amy!

For those of you who don't know, Amy and I were college roommates for two years at Alabama. Those were some fun times in our tiny little dorm and then apartment.

I hope you have an amazing day!

Sadly I couldn't locate any embarrassing high school or college pics.... bummer :)

Much awaited weekend

This weekend our dear friends, Reid and Laura, paid us a visit. We had not seen them in almost five months!!!! That is a super long time considering we used to be roommates (Laura/I and Aaron/Reid ... I mean not like all together). Anyways we have shared a lot of amazing times together and we were so excited to see them and meet their puppy, Chloe.

We got to share in their engagement ...
 They shared in ours!
 We were in their wedding....
And they were in ours!

Anyways ... we ate some awesome food, went to the Sweetwater brewery, and caught up a lot on life. Sadly, I did not document any of it... except a few shots at the brewery.

It was super packed... like lines wrapped around the block.

We can't wait to see them again soon, hopefully in T-town!!!!

Something Borrowed

So since I am in the Youtube embed mode I thought to share with you a movie I am D-Y-I-N-G to see!

First if you haven't read this
http://www.trashionista.com/somethingborrowed.jpg

then do that now.

Then on May 6th, go see this

I love the author Emily Giffin and she is an Atlanta resident. Pretty cool considering in her latest book she mentions a lot of Atlanta neighborhood landmarks, like Henri's Bakery.

Oh how I hate waiting for awesome movies!

Love,

Music is a Lifesaver

So music has been a lifesaver these past few days. Props to Pandora and letting me zone out to get some work done during the day.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the songs on the radio but they get old and real quick. Lately I have been loving weird music. And by weird I mean voices that are just not the norm. I love those people that make you want to grab an adult beverage, sit on the porch and just listen to music (yes I just reminiscined Friday afternoons in college).

These are some of my favs right now!

The Story - Brandi Carlisle

Dream - Priscilla Ahn

Be Be Your Love - Rachael Yamagata

Rolling in the Deep - Adele

Feels like Home - Chantal Kreviazuk

The Cave - Mumford and Sons

Trouble - Ray Lamontage

This is not music related at all but I thought it should be added

The sheer Diane von Furstenberg blouse works perfectly under a blazer for work. As it warms up you can easily pair it with a dark rinse denim trousers for a night out. A vintage bag in a gorgeous jewel tone and delicate earrings complete this look.

DKNY skirt $35.95
Vintage bag $38.50
Nine West heels $22.95
Earrings $25.95

Grand total: $198.30

What A Girl Wants

I love all things girly. I love clothes, jewelry, shoes, you name it. That being said, I am a newlywed on a budget so I do a lot of dreaming about the previously mentioned items.

Here are some of the precious things I am pining over right now (Now, I just have to convince the hubs that I need them) :
Tory Burch Miller sandals - These are a little different than last season's, yet the sad thing is I have already imagined multiple outfits with these on my feet.
Tory Burch tan Reva flats - I LOVE my Revas and would LOVE some more... Hint, Hint ;)

Piperlime - Restricted black wedges - These look similar to $275 Chloe wedges and in my opinion are much cuter. I want them!

J. Crew maxi dress - perfect casual chic dress
J. Crew cotton lace dress - I love summer white dresses. One can't have enough.

Stella and Dot Jewelry (If you don't know anything about this company, then contact me because I know of several reps)
Gold Studs -  I love these studs to wear with my watch and gold jewelry
Sunset Bangle - This bracelet would go perfect with that white dress
Goa Pendant earrings - Love the turquoise

Bloomingdale's Aqua crochet maxi dress - Love this line at Bloomingdale's (super cute and reasonably priced)

I also need a wedding/Easter/graduation dress ... actually make that a plural dresses. I know of three weddings, three graduations and several other springtime festivities quickly approaching (which freaks me and my closet out).

Love,
